More about The 2015 Winners
( learn more about songwriters and hear their songs)
The contest has generated thousands of Florida songs, causing both the songwriter and the audience to become more aware of the history, environment, and characters of Florida.
The songs are sad, funny, inspiring, emotional. The Will McLean Foundation for Florida Heritage in Music has archived all the songs, which will eventually be housed in the McLean Collection at the College of Central Florida in Ocala. The first of a series of CDs featuring finalists, “Soul of the Hawk,” has been produced and is in circulation.
The Will Mclean song contest has brought some fine songwriters to us. The contest is open to all. Although most entries come from Florida, songwriters everywhere are encouraged to submit entries.
Winners are featured at the annual Will McLean Festival. For more information, call (407) 587-9395.
